The short version, in four cards

Tap one to open it full size, or save it to share.

  • How a heist works: 1, rob a shop or the bank by standing still at the till; 2, stash the money at your safehouse, where police cannot enter; 3, bank enough and escape over the bridge or the jetty.
  • Pick your side: Thief robs shops and the bank and escapes before the clock runs out; Police chase thieves on foot or in the patrol van; Legit does honest work in the open city, driving a danfo, okada dispatch, trading or a POS stand.
  • Twelve Naija cities, each with its own landmark: Lagos, Abuja, Kano, Onitsha, Ibadan, Warri, Port Harcourt, Calabar, Benin City, Jos, Kaduna and Enugu.
  • Ways to play: a first heist with a Pidgin coach, quick play against bots, online with friends over a four-letter room code, and Enter Lagos, the always-on city. Plus three menu looks: Premium, Danfo and Naija pop.

How a heist works

A round lasts seven minutes. The thieves need to bank enough money and get out; the police need to stop them before the clock runs out.

  1. Rob a shop

Stand still inside the door and the money comes. A kiosk pays at once; the provision store, the bureau and the bank take longer and pay more, and the bank and bureau set off alarms.

  2. Stash it

Carry it to a green safehouse. Money in your hands is heavy and you lose it if you are arrested. Police can't follow you into the yard.

  3. Escape

When the crew has stashed enough, the way out opens: in Lagos, Third Mainland Bridge or the Makoko jetty. Reach it and you win.

Heat. Rob or get seen and your stars climb; more stars, more police. Lie low and they fall. Three arrests and you are out.

Items in the street. Gala for speed, agbero crowds, a police radio, fuel scarcity, barricades.

Getaways. Take a parked car or an okada. Officers have patrol vans, roadblocks and the numbers.

Pick your side

Each side has its own ranks and its own way to make money. Thief and police play in every round; legit work is in the always-on city.

Thief

Start as an Area Boy

  • Rob kiosks, stores, the bureau and the bank
  • Stash at safehouses with your crew
  • Break out over the bridge, the jetty or the road

Police

Start as a Recruit

  • Follow the alarms and the witnesses' calls
  • Work as a squad, set roadblocks, drive the van
  • Arrests pay; recovered money pays more

Legit

Start as a Conductor

  • Drive a danfo and collect the fares
  • Ride okada dispatch, trade at the markets, run a POS stand
  • Police leave you alone unless you commit a crime

Four ways to play

Start with one short job, then play alone, with friends, or in a city that never closes.

New here

Your first heist

Two minutes, one kiosk, one slow officer, and a coach who talks you through it in Pidgin.

Alone

Quick play

A seven-minute round against bots, as thief or police. There is a daily heist too: the same map for everyone that day, on one leaderboard.

With friends

Online room

Create a room, send your friends the four-letter code, and play the same round together.

Always on

Enter Lagos

The city never closes. Join and leave when you like, pick a side, and keep your wallet and rank between visits.

  • Day and night. A full day passes every 24 minutes. Nights are darker, quieter and pay more.
  • The road. Take a bus from the motor park or drive to another city, through a police checkpoint on the highway.
  • Governors. Each city elects a governor every week, and the winner's platform changes that city's rules.
  • Crews. Form a crew, buy a hideout, plan jobs together and hold turf in the city's quarters.

Twelve cities

Every city is laid out its own way, with its own landmarks, traffic and way out. A shop job plays the same anywhere; the streets around it don't.
